Break the Silence
Ramin Mehmanparast
Crimes at the level of assassination of martyr scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, which are committed in the form of state-sponsored terrorism, with the approval of the US officials, direct cooperation of the Zionist regime, and employment of the MEK terrorist in the territory of the Islamic Republic of Iran, unfortunately has become commonplace in the international system. Most countries have closed their eyes on the consequences of such inhumane acts.
In the contemporary international system, countless slogans are chanted in defense of human rights, against terrorism, but when a scientist is targeted in Iran, international community easily ignores the crime. Resorting to double standards by the international organizations is a shameful stain, proving that relying on slogans such as human rights and condemning terrorism is a political means in the hands of these organizations to put pressure on independent states. International organizations and certain countries claiming to support human rights, whenever their interests require, insist on the need to respect human rights, but remain silent whenever they feel that insisting on human rights and condemning terrorism may be to their disadvantage.
The fact that countries or international institutions treat human rights and the like as beautiful words that can be used to pressure independent countries whenever needed, and agitate the public opinion with such beautiful words, has caused these organizations to lose their credibility, and as a result are no longer effective in resolving the international crises. One cannot claim humanity and freedom and, at the same time, turn a blind eye to crimes at this level. It is not acceptable to remain inactive so that state-sponsored terrorism targets a prominent scientist in broad daylight. The world must open its eyes to this blatant crime, and unite against the perpetrators.
